Parametric Design + Nature

As digital technology encroaches on the design process, the question of where the computer stops must be asked. Relative to the nature of human kind, tools play an integral part into advancing civilization. Digital tools used in architecture have allowed structures to be built in a fashion that most never saw as possible. However, the form, structure, and skin in this project were created only by use of digital tools and numbers- the person was absent.

It is obvious that Florida’s increasing population has impacted the landscape. The form lands what were once used by cattle to graze have been subdivided into cookie-cutter single-family houses and big box strip malls. Fortunately, state parks are intended to be immune from this infectious disease- though are they immune from digital technology?

This pavilion challenges the relationship between the digital process and the natural use of human hand and the rapid development of urban sprawl and nature.
